Lady Bird Johnson Home From Hospital
Lady Bird Johnson left a hospital in Austin, Texas, after an overnight stay following a fainting spell. Shirley James, Mrs. Johnson’s executive secretary, said the former first lady had been “a bit dehydrated†before she fainted at her home. “She is just doing fine,†James said. “She’s been much calmer than anyone else.†Mrs. Johnson, 86, was released from Seton Medical Center and will rest at home. Her daughter, Luci Baines Johnson, said she had traveled a lot and undergone cataract surgery recently. Lady Bird Johnson, the nation’s oldest living former first lady, was married to President Lyndon B. Johnson for almost 39 years. He died in 1973.
