Baroness to Preach in Newport
Baroness Caroline Cox will preach at all three services at St. James Episcopal Church on Sunday to mark the International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church.
Cox, named to the British House of Lords 17 years ago, is known for her human rights work, including the interdenominational Christian Solidarity Worldwide group, which she leads to expose human rights abuses and religious oppression.
The services will be held at 7:30, 9 and 10:45 a.m., and the public is invited. The church is at 3209 Via Lido in Newport Beach. Call (949) 675-0210 for more information.
