Galloway Returns to Seattle
After holding out for half the season, wide receiver Joey Galloway arrived in Seattle on Monday night.
He was expected to report to the Seahawks today to end the longest holdout in the team’s history.
Galloway promised Sunday night to end his holdout, but did not arrive in Seattle early enough Monday to join his teammates for a players’ meeting and a light workout.
Galloway, who caught 65 passes for 1,047 yards and 10 touchdowns last season, spent the training camp, exhibition season and first eight games of the regular season at home.
Through all the turmoil with Galloway, new Coach-General Manager Mike Holmgren insisted he would not trade him by the NFL’s trading deadline last month because he wanted him to help the team this season.
Holmgren said he doesn’t think Galloway’s arrival will cause any problems in team chemistry.
“Most of the players understand the business side of this because they’ve had to deal with this already or they’re going to have to deal with it,†Holmgren said. “There might be a little razzing early, but after that things settle in pretty easily.â€

Jacksonville running back Tavian Banks will miss the rest of the season because of a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee.
Also, receiver Alvis Whitted suffered a sprained knee that Coach Tom Coughlin said could keep him out of next week’s game against Baltimore. Without Banks or Whitted, the Jaguars have only three receivers on the roster.

Denver quarterback Chris Miller will start again in Seattle on Sunday because Brian Griese (torn muscle) and Bubby Brister (knee) are ailing. . . . New York Jet tight end Eric Green underwent arthroscopic surgery on his left knee and will be out indefinitely.
