Lancaster Falls at Modesto, 9-3

Catcher Rafael Lopez had two hits, including a run-scoring single, but Modesto defeated Lancaster, 9-3, in front of 2,327 Friday night at Modesto in a California League game.
Lopez threw out three baserunners in four steal attempts.
Modesto is 35-14 and leads the league, while Lancaster, at 18-31, continues to falter and is in last place.
