DARE Officer Tina Kelley was named the Police Department’s officer of the year recently. Kelley is a three-year veteran of the La Palma force.
Other honorees at the department’s recent awards ceremony included records clerk Charlotte Deardorff, civilian employee of the year; Officer Arthur Wright, top gun award for most accurate shooter, his second consecutive year winning; Officer Tim Nolan, Mothers Against Drunk Driving award for most driving under the influence arrests; and Lorenzo Hernandez, reserve officer of the year.
