Oxnard Fires Garcia

Dan Garcia, who guided Oxnard High to its first baseball playoff berth in more than 25 years, said he has been fired by Principal Daisy Tatum.
“He’s a gentleman and I respect him,” Tatum said. “There were some unresolved issues.” She declined to say what the issues were.
Garcia said he did not know why he was being replaced. Garcia will remain a teacher at the school, Tatum said.
Garcia was Oxnard’s coach for the past four seasons. His team finished second in the Pacific View League with a 7-5 record.
