Easyriders Inc. of Agoura Hills said that for the first quarter ended March 31, it recorded revenues of $11 million, which generated a loss of $1.8 million or 10 cents per share.
This compares with revenues a year earlier of $200,000, which produced a loss of $1.2 million or 14 cents per share.
The company reorganized last September and focused its direction from the operation of two faltering food and entertainment enterprises to its magazine publishing, franchising and retail operations, as well as its barbecue restaurants.
Easyriders publishes more than a dozen motorcycle, special-interest and lifestyle magazines, with a worldwide readership of more than 6 million. The company also owns, operates and franchises Easyriders retail stores throughout the United States, and owns and operates the El Paso Bar-B-Que restaurant chain.
