Treatment, Not Jail, the Best Solution for Addicts
- Share via
“A Lifeline of Words” (May 10) was the perfect portrait of what can happen when treatment is given a chance. Addicts should be in treatment, not only to benefit ourselves but also for our enormous potential to help other addicts stay clean. Wouldn’t this be a better solution than spending millions of dollars to incarcerate folks whose ultimate contribution will be to serve years, decades, picking up cigarette butts in prison yards?
