A patron videotaped stabbing another man during a fight in a Fullerton bar was convicted Tuesday of attempted murder.
The eight-man, four-woman panel, which deliberated about a day, also found Marco Gutierrez guilty of using a knife in the commission of the crime and inflicting great bodily injury.
An Orange County judge will decide today whether Gutierrez should be sentenced under the state’s “three strikes” law.
The patron was stabbed during the early morning Sept. 12. The attack was recorded by a man who had brought in a camera to videotape a member of the bar’s band.
Gutierrez faces a mandatory 25-years-to-life term if he is found to be a three-strikes offender.
