The City Council on Tuesday will hold a public hearing on proposals to replace fire and construction codes. The city updates its uniform fire code every three years to keep current with state law. The changes would include updating the 12-year-old fee structure for various fire services. The new costs are reduced in some cases and more expensive in others. The council also will discuss amending the construction code to delete unnecessary wording or to clarify some items. The council meets at 7 p.m. in chambers, 1 Civic Center Circle.
