Mike Lawrence of UC Irvine has been selected to compete as an individual in the NCAA West Regional golf championships May 20-22 at Tucson National.
Lawrence, a Tucson native, was an All-Big West selection after averaging 74.34 in 35 rounds this season.
The Anteaters missed out on the final team spot, which went to UC Santa Barbara. A selection committee determines the qualifiers.
The top nine teams and the top two individuals not on qualifying teams advance to the NCAA finals June 2-5 at Hazeltine National Golf Club in Chaska, Minn.
