Ventura resident Milo Bugg died Sunday at an Ojai hospital after a long illness. He was 74.
Bugg was born May 1, 1925, in Bellridge, Calif. By age 17, he began working in the Forestry Department and served as a game warden.
He later joined the Ventura County Fire Department as a firefighter, serving 18 years.
Bugg began working at Camarillo State Hospital in 1960, retiring 19 years later.
A member of the Oakview Moose Lodge and considered an avid fisherman, Bugg is survived by his wife of 37 years, Dorothy. He is also survived by daughters Pat Hicks of Fort Worth, Texas; Carol Rainey and Ellen Magnetti, both of Ventura; sons Ed Rainey of Middletown, Calif.; Bill Rainey, Rod Rainey and Don Rainey, all of Texas; Mike Bugg of Ventura and Clarence Bugg of Cortez, Colo.; a brother, Alan Bugg of Cortez, Colo.; 18 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be between 4 and 8 p.m. Thursday at the Ted Mayr Funeral Home in Ventura. Services will be Friday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by burial at Ivy Lawn Memorial Park in Ventura.
