American Changing Airports in Paris

American Airlines will switch all its Paris flights from Orly to Charles de Gaulle on Oct. 1--the last major U.S. daily carrier to make the change, said airline spokesman Mark Slitt. American now sends five flights from the U.S. to Paris each day; on June 1, it begins nonstop LAX-Paris service. Travelers who bought tickets before April 26 for flights Oct. 1 or later should check with American or their travel agents for possible schedule changes, Slitt added.
France is transforming Orly, which is closer to the city than De Gaulle, into a short-haul airport. It typically takes 20 to 35 minutes to drive into Paris from Orly, versus 40 to 50 minutes from De Gaulle.
