Caliber Collision Centers, an Irvine-based operator of a growing chain of auto collision repair shops in California and Texas, said it has acquired a San Gabriel Valley auto body business with three shops and a large towing operation. The purchase of Walnut Valley Collision Centers, which has about $12 million in annual revenue, brings Caliber’s projected annual revenue for 1999 to $75 million and gives it a total of 22 facilities.
Caliber’s business plan is centered on building a network of collision repair facilities in order to benefit from consolidating administrative operations, boosting purchasing economies and increasing bargaining clout with insurance companies.(John O’Dell)
