Foothill League finals--Senior Lauren Fleshman of Canyon High won the girls’ 800, 1,600 and 3,200 at Birmingham High.
Fleshman’s times of 5:25.7 in the 1,600, 2:20.0 in the 800 and 11:40.6 in the 3,200 were far off her career bests of 4:58.54, 2:11.87 and 10:21.36, but she won easily.
The boys’ distance races were highly competitive and produced three different winners.
Junior Brian Anderson of Burroughs won the 1,600 in 4:20.9 to turn back defending champion Jacob Boeding of Saugus, who finished second in 4:27.1.
Boeding, a senior, came back to win the 3,200 in a career best of 9:35.7 as six runners broke 10 minutes.
In the boys’ 800, junior Aaron Hope of Canyon placed first in a career-best 1:58.7 to defeat junior Mike Garrells of Burroughs by one-half second.
