Want to learn about Y2K and how government offices in Ventura County have prepared?
The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office of Emergency Services and Thousand Oaks city officials will host the Y2K Public Education Forum at the Civic Arts Plaza from 9 a.m. to noon Tuesday.
“The purpose of this free session is to inform our community about the facts of Y2K, how to best prepare for potential problems on and after Jan. 1, and how our county and city services are set to manage whatever occurs,” said sheriff’s spokesman Eric Nishimoto.
There will be a discussion among representatives of utility companies, businesses and emergency service providers.
There will also be a question-and-answer period, along with videos and literature.
For more information, call 449-2453. Y2K compliance information is also posted on the city’s Web site at https://www.ci.thousand-oaks.ca.us.
