Public Hearings Set on Projects for Boulevard

SAN FERNANDO VALLEY — The city Planning Department will hold several public meetings next week to hear what residents and business owners have to say about improving the look of Ventura Boulevard.
Planning officials and participants will consider an amendment to a city planning document outlining improvements to a 15-mile stretch of the boulevard, said Deuk Perrin, a supervising city planner.
“Now is a very important time,” Perrin said. “There is a lot of interest to improve the look of the boulevard. People will want to shop there if it looks neat and safe.”
Building heights, setbacks and other land-use issues will be discussed at the meetings, Perrin said.
Hearings will be held on May 12 at the Encino Community Center, 4935 Balboa Blvd., Encino, and on May 13 at CBS Studio Center, 4024 Radford Ave., Studio City. The meetings are all scheduled from 4:30 to 8 p.m.
