Cal Baptist Victory Ends Concordia Season

Cal Baptist dashed Concordia’s hopes of making the Golden State Athletic Conference postseason baseball playoffs by beating the Eagles, 7-4, in a one-game playoff Tuesday in Irvine.
Cal Baptist took a 5-4 lead in the fifth inning and sealed the victory with runs in the sixth and eighth innings. Concordia left 14 runners on base and failed to score after loading the bases in the sixth, seventh and ninth innings.
Tim Kleveno went three for four with two doubles, and Charlie Eckenrod went two for three with two RBIs for Cal Baptist. Cal Baptist advanced to a best-of-three-game series with Azusa Pacific, which begins Friday in Azusa.
