In an ongoing effort to enhance learning opportunities outside the classroom, the Anaheim City School District has joined with the Anaheim Family YMCA in the “Achieves” after-school program. Following a successful pilot at one school last year, officials plan to expand the program to 10 schools in the district and six in the Magnolia School District, said Sandra Barry, assistant superintendent of education for the district. The district has applied for a $1.9-million state grant to help fund the program. Information: (714) 635-9622.
