Students Collect Money for Kosovo

The pupils at Banyan Elementary School are collecting spare change this week with the hope that it will add up to something significant for the refugees of Kosovo.

The final count is not in, but with more than 150 pounds of pennies, nickels, dimes and quarters--and a few bills thrown in--the students already have several hundred dollars.

The money will be routed through the American Red Cross to purchase clothing, food and medical supplies for the thousands of refugees driven from Kosovo province in Yugoslavia.
