* “The Basics of Business,” a workshop by the Gold Coast Small Business Development Center, will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Wednesday at 5700 Ralston St., Suite 310, Ventura. The workshop is designed for those interested in becoming self-employed.
The cost is $15. Make reservations at 658-2688.
* A support group meeting for consultants will be held from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Friday at the Gold Coast Small Business Development Center, 5700 Ralston St., Suite 310, Ventura.
The meeting will include suggestions on marketing, conducting engagements and forming a virtual organization.
