The City Council tonight will consider buying five Chevrolet S-10 pickups, for a total cost of $95,856, from Guaranty Chevrolet.
The Police Department uses compact cars for its parking meter patrols, but because of the cars’ low chassis and the need to enter and exit the vehicles numerous times a day, officials have requested that five vehicles be replaced with compact pickups, which have a higher ground clearance.
The council meets at 6 p.m. in the chambers, 22 Civic Center Plaza. Information: (714) 647-6520.
