There is an opening on the Air Pollution Control District advisory committee for a resident from east Ventura County who is interested in air quality issues.
The 20-member advisory panel meets the fourth Tuesday of each month to consider rules and regulations proposed for adoption by the district’s board.
Committee members also collect comments and make recommendations to the board for projects to be funded under the district’s Motor Vehicle Emission Reduction Grant Program.
Committee members are formally appointed by the control district board, which consists of all five county supervisors and five elected city officials.
Applicants must be residents of the 4th District, which encompasses Simi Valley, Moorpark and the unincorporated communities of Somis, Santa Susana Knolls, Moorpark Home Acres and the Santa Rosa and Tierra Rejada valleys.
Letters of interest and resumes should be sent to Supervisor Judy Mikels’ office, attention Keith Jajko, at 3855-F Alamo St., Simi Valley, 93063.
