Calabasas 15, Malibu 3--Nick Weiss and Alex Menichini each swept their singles sets for the Coyotes (10-8, 6-0) in a Frontier League match at Calabasas.
Van Nuys 15 1/2, Westchester 14--Alex Mangu defeated Jorge Gonzalez in the final set and the Wolves (10-5) upset the second-seeded Comets in a City Section Division quarterfinal at Westchester.
Chatsworth 21 1/2, L.A. Marshall 8--The No. 1 doubles team of Michael Kim and Josh Lodolo won all of their sets to help Chatsworth (9-4-1) in a City Section Division quarterfinal.
BOYS’ VOLLEYBALL
Quartz Hill def. Highland, 16-14, 15-9, 16-14--Brandan Butchart had 22 kills and 13 digs for the visiting Rebels, who gained a share of first place in the Golden League.
Quartz Hill (14-1, 7-1) staved off five set points in the first game. Middle blockers Sahael Almvallem and Jared Coperning each had 15 kills for the Rebels.
Jon Moser led Highland (11-1, 7-1) with 15 kills.
