Temple Plans Celebration of Israel’s 51st Anniversary

Temple Judea of Laguna Hills will commemorate Israel’s 51st anniversary with a celebration at 7 p.m. Sunday. The community is invited to attend the event, which will include musical entertainment and feature a member of the Israeli Consulate speaking on the nation’s history.

Israel was founded May 14, 1948, as a homeland for Jews from all parts of the world. Located on the eastern shore of the Mediterranean Sea, it makes up most of the Biblical Holy Land, where the religious and national identity of the Jews developed. According to the Bible, Abraham, the father of the Jewish people, established a Semitic population in the Holy Land, which many scholars believed happened between 1800 and 1500 B.C.

Reserved seating for the event is available for $7.50 per person and can be purchased at the Temple Judea office, 24512 Moulton Pkwy. in Laguna Hills, or the Leisure World Clubhouse 3 box office. The event will be held at Leisure World Clubhouse 3. Information: (949) 830-0470.
