Kaitlin Sandeno, a sophomore from El Toro High, won the women’s 400-meter individual medley final at the National Swimming Championships in East Meadow, N.Y. Sandeno won in 4 minutes 43.37 seconds and Jamie Cail, a senior from Marina High, was fourth in 4:51.09. Sandeno’s time was the eighth best by an American and a personal best by seven seconds. She was second in the 800 freestyle Sunday.
Torwai Sethsorthorn of Mission Viejo was third in the men’s 400 individual medley in 4:24.57.
