FOUNTAIN VALLEY
* Brookhurst Street at Edinger Avenue: A man with a gun reportedly robbed two women in a car stopped at a light at 4:50 p.m. March 24. The man--described as having a dark complexion with dark hair and brown eyes, 23 to 25 years old, about 5-foot-5 and 120 pounds--entered the car through a rear door, ordered the driver to go to a remote location and stole the women’s purses, their rings and a cell phone. He struck one of the women when she asked him if she could keep her passport. The assailant was last seen in a white four-door sedan with the license plate 3XLZ608 or 3LXZ608. Anyone with information is asked to call the police at (714) 593-4472.

* West Commonwealth Avenue: Report of a burglarized yellow Ford van in the 700 block at 1:46 p.m. Thursday.
GARDEN GROVE
* Fairview Avenue at Garden Grove Boulevard: Gang Suppression Unit officers arrested an alleged gang member on suspicion of stealing a car at 11 p.m. March 24.
HUNTINGTON BEACH
* Brookhurst Street: A remote-controlled car worth $500 was stolen in the 19100 block at 9:04 p.m. March 24.
* Huntington Street: Someone reported that his head had been slammed into a desk by someone else in the 2300 block at 6:20 a.m. March 24.
IRVINE
* Main Street: The driver’s-side rear and front passenger windows of a 1999 Ford were smashed and an IBM laptop computer was stolen in the 2100 block at 5:10 a.m. Monday.
* Irvine Center Drive: Electrical equipment was reported stolen from a construction site in the 7500 block at 8:47 a.m. Monday.
LAGUNA BEACH
* Smithcliffs Road: People stuck in an elevator at a business had to be rescued at 5:57 p.m. Sunday.
* Main Beach: Someone reported finding a knife inside a shoe next to the volleyball courts in the 100 block at 6:41 p.m. Sunday.
LAGUNA HILLS
* DeSalle Street: A stereo and speakers were stolen from a locked Honda Accord in the 25000 block sometime between 11:30 p.m. Sunday and 8 a.m. Monday.
LAGUNA NIGUEL
* Seaport: A woman reported that her car windshield had been smashed in the 100 block at 5:55 p.m. Thursday.
