COSTA MESA
High school students in Newport-Mesa Unified began taking the Stanford 9 tests this week. Across the state, all students in grades two through 11 will take the tests this spring. Results of the state-mandated testing, which started last year, will be used to evaluate both students and teachers. Low-scoring students may have to enroll in summer school. Students in the elementary grades will take the tests in April, after spring break. Information: (714) 424-5030.
