Reagan Grandson Pleads No Contest in Theft Case
VAN NUYS — A grandson of former President Ronald Reagan pleaded no contest Tuesday to charges of receiving stolen property.
Cameron Reagan, the 20-year-old son of Michael Reagan, faces a maximum of three years in prison at a sentencing hearing next week.
Reagan was arrested in November after authorities said they found him and another man trying the doors of a number of parked cars on Sepulveda Boulevard near the Ventura Freeway. He was charged with grand theft, petty theft, receiving stolen property and two counts of auto burglary.
In exchange for his plea, prosecutors will drop the remaining charges of auto burglary and grand theft after the sentencing.
No sentence was agreed upon between the parties, leaving the punishment up to court, Deputy Dist. Atty. Lea Purwin D’Agostino said. She will be requesting a one-year sentence.
