American National’s Earnings Quadruple

Irvine-based real estate services provider American National Financial Inc. said earnings more than quadrupled in the fourth quarter on a 66% increase in revenue.

Net earnings for the three months increased to $2.4 million, or 53 cents a share, from $518,000, or 17 cents a share, for the same period a year earlier. Revenue totaled $25.7 million, up from $15.5 million.

For the year, earnings surged to $6.9 million, or $1.96 a share, from $709,000, or 23 cents a share, in 1997. Revenue nearly tripled to $91.4 million from $30.9 million.
