Patty Del Real pitched a one-hitter with eight strikeouts and Kennedy High routed Taft, 9-0, on Wednesday in a Northwest Valley Conference softball game at Taft.
Del Real (8-1) had a perfect game until Kara Bounds’ infield hit with one out in the fifth inning.
Del Real hit a three-run double in the first inning, when the Golden Cougars (9-1, 1-1 in conference play) took a 4-0 lead.
Marianne Trujillo had two hits and one RBI for Kennedy.
El Camino Real 5, Granada Hills 0--Stephanie Frasco pitched a two-hitter and had three hits for the Conquistadores in a Northwest Valley Conference game at Granada Hills.
Frasco (4-0) struck out four and walked two.
Jacqui Goodchild had three hits for El Camino Real (9-2, 2-0).
Chatsworth 3, Cleveland 2--Jackie Casado’s run-scoring single in the seventh gave the Chancellors (8-4, 2-0) a Northwest Valley victory at Cleveland.
Morgan Bleimeyer hit a two-run home run for Cleveland (4-2, 1-1).
Santa Paula 8, Channel Islands 7--Lauren Bustillos’ sacrifice fly in the seventh inning gave the Cardinals (4-2-1) a Frontier League victory at Santa Paula.
BOYS’ TRACK
El Camino Real 79, Kennedy 48--D’Angelo Nedd won the three jumping events for the Conquistadores (2-1, 2-1) in a Northwest Valley Conference victory at El Camino Real.
Blaine Kezirian of El Camino Real had a career-best of 51-4 in the shotput.
Chatsworth 72, Granada Hills 55--Kenan Jackson won the 100 meters, the 120-yard high hurdles and the 330 intermediate hurdles for the Chancellors (2-1, 2-1) in a Northwest Valley Conference victory at Chatsworth.
Simi Valley 85, Agoura 51--Jimmy Culliard won both hurdles events, the high jump and the triple jump for the Pioneers (2-1, 2-1) in a Marmonte League victory at Royal High.
BOYS’ TENNIS
Granada Hills 7, Kennedy 0--Lee Weinstein beat Ryan Celaya, 6-0, 6-0, at No. 1 singles in a Northwest Valley Conference match at Granada Hills.
