Thousand Oaks Youth Dies in Car Accident
A Thousand Oaks teenager died late Monday after he lost control of his car.
According to authorities, Danny Hilal Darwiche, 17, died shortly after he lost control of his vehicle on Hillcrest Drive, just west of McCloud Street in Thousand Oaks about 9:15 p.m.
Although police are investigating the cause of the accident, they suspect speed was a factor.
There was no indication that alcohol played a role in the crash.
Several of the teen’s friends, following in separate vehicles, witnessed the accident, police said.
No other injuries were reported.
