Acme Television to Buy 3 Stations From Paxson
Acme Television in Santa Ana has agreed to acquire three television stations from Paxson Communications Corp. for $40 million in cash, the companies announced Tuesday.
The acquisitions will bring the number of Acme stations to nine, all affiliates of the WB Network.
The three stations being acquired are WDPX TV-26, serving Dayton, Ohio, the nation’s 54th market; WPXG TV-14, serving Green Bay, Wis., the nation’s 69th market; and WPXU TV-23, serving Champaign-Decatur, Ill., the nation’s 82nd market.
Other stations are in St. Louis; Salt Lake City; Albuquerque, N.M.; Knoxville, Tenn; and the Fort Myers-Naples, Fla., area.
