A two-time first-team selection bound for UC Santa Barbara, Caine was often at her best in the Tritons’ biggest games. A 37.7% three-point shooter (and 46% overall), Caine averaged 11.4 points and 7.2 assists while playing one of the county’s toughest schedules.

Davidson won four section titles with top-ranked Brea (32-3), and did her part this season by shooting 46.3% from the field, 39.4% from the three-point line. A two-time first-team selection bound for George Washington, she averaged 14.6 points and 6.2 assists.

One of the most athletic players in the county, Johns-Richardson averaged 19.2 points, 8.6 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 6.6 steals this season to lead the third-ranked Warriors (27-1) into the playoffs with a 26-0 record.

A quick, athletic post player with a nice jump shot, Mann was a critical force for the success of eighth-ranked Foothill (27-5). She averaged 15.1 points and 9.6 rebounds for the Knights, helping them reach the Division II-AA title game for the first time since 1986.

A second-team choice last year who will attend Arkansas on a volleyball scholarship, McLeod was an inside scoring threat with a soft touch to 10 feet. She averaged 15.2 points and 9.6 rebounds, taking Marina (24-4)--ranked sixth in Orange County--to the I-A quarterfinals.

The county’s preeminent shotmaker, Mendiola led the county in scoring (24.8) for the second consecutive season to earn her second all-county selection. She also averaged 7.5 assists, and shot 37.6% from the three-point arc, as second-ranked El Toro reached the Division I-AA finals.

The Times Orange County player of the year is a two-time selection to the first team after leading Brea to an 11th consecutive section title and an eighth state championship appearance. A quick, dominant force inside, Trotter averaged 19.6 points and 10.8 rebounds.

A two-time first-team selection who creates well around the basket, Turnbull can take over a game when she wants. She averaged 15.0 points and 9.3 rebounds for the seventh-ranked Tritons (23-10), who reached the Division I-A finals. Turnbull will attend UC Davis.

Zylstra was an outstanding rebounder and scorer for the fourth-ranked Chargers, who ascended as high as No. 2 in Orange County. Zylstra averaged 13.3 points and 9.5 rebounds against a difficult schedule. Though tough inside, she could also hit the three-point shot.
