Budget Boost Will Extend Animal Shelter’s Hours
The Castaic Animal Shelter, which had its hours reduced because of county budget cuts the last couple of years, will extend its hours on Wednesdays and be open on Fridays starting April 1.
The thriving local economy allows for sufficient funding from Supervisor Mike Antonovich’s budget for animal control and the extension of hours, said Santa Clarita Mayor Jo Anne Darcy.
New hours for the shelter at 31044 North Charlie Canyon Road are 9 to 5 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, and 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesdays.
The shelter will be closed Sundays and legal holidays.
