Fog, Cloudy Skies Expected to Linger
A storm slowly moved through Ventura County on Saturday, dropping more than half an inch of rain on most cities. The National Weather Service in Oxnard said the county can expect dense fog this morning with cloudy skies lingering for most of the day. Sunshine is forecast for Monday.
“Once the clouds go away everything else pretty much does too,” said Stuart Seto, a federal weather specialist in Oxnard.
High temperatures today will be in the mid-60s with lows in the 40s.
Saturday’s storm dumped 0.71 of an inch of rain at Matilija Dam, followed by Ojai, Oxnard and Santa Paula, each with 0.67 of an inch, according to the Ventura County Flood Control District.
About half a dozen fender benders--but no serious injury accidents--were reported on county roadways, according to fire and police departments.
Saturday’s precipitation did little to boost season rainfall totals in most cities, which remain far below average.
