First American Buys Wichita Firm

First American Financial Corp., Santa Ana-based provider of real estate-related financial and information services, said Monday it is acquiring Security Abstract and Title Co. in Wichita, Kan.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Security Abstract, which will continue to operate under its existing name, has 91 employees and four offices--three in Wichita and one in Derby, Kan.

First American acquired the company from co-owners John and Roger Bell, whose family has owned Security Abstract for 55 years. Roger Bell is continuing as president and John Bell as executive vice president.
