Verbum Dei 68, San Diego Horizon 62--Senior guard Marlon Parmer scored 26 points and senior forward Dalron Johnson had 16 points and 11 rebounds for the defending state champion Eagles (30-7), who shot 53% from the field and pulled away in the final three minutes of the Division IV final at San Diego State’s Cox Arena.

Verbum Dei will play Sacramento Christian Brothers, a 55-53 winner over Colfax, in the state final next Saturday.

Parmer scored 10 points in the fourth quarter, including seven in the final 2:30. He made a layup and a jump shot during a 33-second span to give Verbum Dei a bigger cushion, 65-56, with 1:57 remaining and the Eagles were never threatened again.

Ryan Fellows had 21 points, including four three-pointers, for Horizon (25-3).
