Glendale Fizzles in Second Half Against Cerritos
Glendale College couldn’t hold a halftime lead and lost to No. 3-seeded Cerritos, 86-75, in a Southern California men’s basketball regional final Saturday night at Cerritos.
Cerritos (30-5) outscored Glendale, 51-35, in the second half. Lemar Gayle had 26 points and nine rebounds for the Falcons.
Glendale (24-10) led, 40-35, at halftime, but Cerritos opened the second half with an 11-2 run to take the lead for good.
Tony Hoggatts scored 20 points, including four three-point baskets, for Glendale. The Vaqueros made nine three-pointers.
