Weeders, painters and sweepers are needed to lend their hands April 24 to the semiannual Neighbors for Neighbors community cleanup of Canyon Park and six to 10 homes.
Volunteer teams will paint, weed and haul away unwanted items from homes. Although the homes have not been selected, the city plans to cluster them in one area, city officials said. The budget for this year’s cleanup is $30,000.
About 400 volunteers are needed for the annual Canyon Park cleanup. Work will include removing litter, pulling weeds and planting native shrubs, ground cover and trees. The city is asking for donations, including money, food for volunteers, gift certificates and items that can be used for the cleanup, such as paintbrushes.
Registration for the park cleanup will be at 8 a.m. April 24 at Canyon Park, and the neighborhood cleanup at 8 a.m. the same day at Estancia High School, 2323 Placentia Ave.
