NEWPORT BEACH
The City Council has awarded $15,000 in grants to three citizen groups working to upgrade facilities in the Newport-Mesa Unified School District. The city recently gave $5,000 each to Newport Heights Elementary School toward a playground renovation, to Corona del Mar High School for a new athletic field track and drain system, and to the Newport Beach Little League to help pay for improvements to a field at the Lincoln Athletic Center.
