Dwayne Helmuth, Callaway Vineyard & Winery
“It was judged best red wine recently at the L.A. County Fair--a 1996 V. Sattui Cabernet. It was in the $20-to-$25 range and up against much higher-priced Cabs. It wasn’t a blockbuster Cab, but everything was in balance. It was not too tart, not too tannic. It was an all-around nice drinking wine. The guy next to me at the fair judging said it would be a great bottle to sit and finish drinking after dinner with your wife. It was just very good.”
