EL MONTE — A pilot suffered minor injuries Monday when his small plane overturned while taxiing at El Monte Airport, a county fire inspector said.
The single-engine Cessna had just landed about 8 a.m. and was taxiing at a high speed when it hit a maintenance box on the side of the runway. The pilot apparently lost control and the plane veered into a fence, flipped and landed just short of a dirt wash, said inspector Gonzalo Salgado.
The pilot, who was not identified, got out of the plane and was taken to a hospital, officials said.
