Free consultations for people who have poor vision and are unable to read fine print are available through the Braille Institute’s Visual Aids program. The one-hour consultations introduce people with fading vision to techniques for improving their sight, using special lighting and magnification equipment. A doctor’s written referral is required before making an appointment. For more information, call (323) 663-1111, Ext. 315, or consult the Braille Institute’s Web site at www.brailleinstitute.org.
