As the year 2000 draws closer, the city is considering how to--and how not to--celebrate. In a recent study session, the City Council agreed that fireworks sales for New Year’s Eve should be prohibited.
The council also urged against a city-sponsored fireworks display, pointing out Knott’s Berry Farm will conduct one that residents can view. But Mayor Jack Mauller suggested a city event be created to mark the millennium. Council member Patsy Marshall suggested burying a time capsule to mark the occasion.
