Making a Connection

Planning to put up a new fence, plant a tree or add a swimming pool?
The Southern California Gas Co. encourages customers to call the Underground Service Alert at (800) 227-2600 at least two working days before digging to avoid rupturing hidden natural gas lines.
As a free service, Underground Service Alert will contact the Gas Co., which will then locate and mark its gas pipeline.
To locate customer-owned piping--lines that run beyond the gas meter to an area where gas-powered appliances are located--call a pipe and leak locating service or a plumbing contractor.
Once marked, customers should carefully use only hand-digging tools within 2 feet of marked gas lines.
