Re “Tougher State Oversight Could Spur Progress at Rite Aid,” July 22: Hats off to columnist Kenneth Reich for getting to the facts about the California Board of Pharmacy and its dealings with the Rite Aid drugstore chain. All of these facts point to the critical lack of regulatory enforcement by our state government bureaucracies to control the rapidly expanding problems of abuse related to drugstore pharmacies.
The “speak softly and carry a big stick” policy is urgently needed.
