The Santa Ana Firemen’s Assn. is hosting the 1999 California Firemen’s Summer Olympics this weekend. The 28th annual event is expected to draw about 2,500 firefighters to compete in more than 25 sports. Competitions range from baseball and road cycling to water-skiing and darts.
Events begin at 2 p.m. Sunday and will be held at several locations throughout Orange and San Bernardino counties. The public is welcome to attend. For information, call (714) 836-9890.
