THE SAFETY ZONE: ACTION LOG
The Times Orange County publishes a daily list of police incident reports provided by local law enforcement agencies. The Times prints items as soon as departments make them available. Because many departments release incident reports only weekly, not every community will be represented in each day’s Action Log. Authorities from the following cities released incident reports Tuesday:
ANAHEIM
* Santa Ana Freeway at Lincoln Avenue: Report of a traffic collision in the northbound lanes at 9:35 a.m. Tuesday.
BREA
* Brea Mall: A petty theft was reported in the 1000 block at 9:29 a.m. Thursday.
* Apollo Street: Vandalism was reported in the 500 block at 11:41 a.m. Thursday.
BUENA PARK
* Knott Avenue: A window on a 1990 Acura Integra was reported smashed in the 7500 block at 8:19 a.m. Sunday.
* Crescent Avenue at San Pablo Drive: About 20 gawkers refused to move when warned about a tree that was in danger of falling due to soggy ground at 2:16 p.m. Sunday.
DANA POINT
* Stonecrest: A robbery alarm was triggered in the 100 block at 7:17 a.m. Monday.
* Golden Lantern: A robbery alarm was triggered in the 33000 block at 11:07 a.m. Monday.
FOUNTAIN VALLEY
* Valle Avenue: Someone exploded an acid bomb in the 9200 block at 2 p.m. Thursday.
GARDEN GROVE
* Trask Avenue at Harbor Boulevard: A motorist crashed his car into another car at 7:30 p.m. Sunday. Police said they suspected one driver to be under the influence of drugs, and then saw him swallow packages of drugs. A search of the suspect turned up several grams of cocaine in packages and drug paraphernalia, police said. The suspect apparently suffered an overdose; paramedics responded and transported him to Western Medical Center, where he was booked in the jail ward.
HUNTINGTON BEACH
* Constitution Drive: A 10-year-old boy chased his sister down the street with a metal wrench in the 9900 block at 12:31 p.m. Sunday.
IRVINE
* Kaiser Avenue: About 50 gallons of gasoline worth $75 was reported stolen from unlocked vehicles near Fabrication Concepts in the 1800 block at 1:14 p.m. Monday.
* MacArthur Boulevard: Theft of $437.50 in cash from a checkbook in an unlocked desk in the 19800 block at 3:29 p.m. Monday. Theft has occurred on three separate occasions, a business spokesman said.
LAGUNA BEACH
* Main Beach: An Irvine man was arrested in the 100 block for public intoxication at 1:05 a.m. Tuesday.
LAGUNA HILLS
* Moulton Parkway: A man reported that his business in the 23000 block was broken into and ransacked between 6 p.m. Friday and 7:30 a.m. Saturday. There was no loss.
LAGUNA NIGUEL
* Briones Drive: A woman reported that she found a listening device in her room that led to a roommate’s room and found a tape recorder hidden in her vehicle in the 24100 block at 4 p.m. July 7.
* La Hermosa Avenue: A man reported that the flowers in the frontyard of his home in the 24600 block had been torn up and his vehicle had been scratched in several places sometime between 4 and 6 a.m. July 7.
LAKE FOREST
* Crescent Road at Boeing Avenue: A loud party was reported at 11:23 p.m. Friday.
* Via Viejo Street: A loud party in the 25000 block was reported at 11:54 p.m. Saturday.
LA PALMA
* Rampart Lane: Police advised a prayer meeting in the 7000 block to keep it down after a noise complaint was called in about 10:30 p.m. Friday.
LOS ALAMITOS
* Bloomfield Street: The owner of a vehicle parked in a fast-food restaurant parking lot in the 10800 block said his toolbox had been stolen at 10:47 a.m. Saturday.
* Farquhar Avenue: Report of a broken window at a residence in the 4400 block at 5:58 p.m. Saturday.
MISSION VIEJO
* Abedul: Deputies responded to a fireworks violation in the 21000 block at 9:03 p.m. Friday.
* Alicia Parkway at Trabuco Road: Deputies arrested a 33-year-old woman on suspicion of felony hit-and-run and driving at 7 p.m. Friday. Police said she rear-ended a vehicle at the intersection and drove away, leaving her front license plate at the scene. Deputies arrested the woman when she arrived at her home.
* Los Alisos Boulevard: Deputies responded to a theft from a business in the 23000 block at 5:25 p.m. Sunday. About $640 in cash was taken.
PLACENTIA
* Chapman Avenue: A petty theft was reported in the 300 block at 9:58 a.m. Sunday.
* Kraemer Boulevard: An assault and battery was reported in the 200 block at 1:54 p.m. Sunday.
SAN CLEMENTE
* North Avenida De La Estrella: A robbery alarm was triggered in the 3000 block at 7:38 a.m. Monday.
* Calle Almirante: A robbery alarm was triggered in the 2000 block at 10:30 a.m. Monday.
SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO
* Plaza Brisas: A robbery alarm was triggered in the 100 block at 8:31 a.m. Monday.
* Plaza Drive: A robbery alarm was triggered in the 31000 block at 11:48 a.m. Monday.
SANTA ANA
* South Bristol Street: Two people were arrested on suspicion of breaking and entering into an apartment in the 3100 block at 10:39 a.m. Monday. The manager spotted the suspects entering through a window and called police.
SEAL BEACH
* Regatta Way: Report of a BB or cap gun being fired near 1st Street about 5:30 a.m. Sunday. Police were unable to locate the source.
TUSTIN
* Red Hill Avenue at El Camino Real: Report of a brush fire in a field; it was out in 10 minutes, at 5:08 p.m. Saturday, with no damage.
WESTMINSTER
* Westminster Mall: A 16-year-old girl and a 26-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of forgery, using counterfeit money, about 3 p.m. Sunday.
* Westminster Mall: A 27-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of grand theft in the 300 block about 4:30 p.m. Sunday.
YORBA LINDA
* Santa Ana River near Featherly Park: Report of six children playing on inner tubes in the river at 2:34 p.m. Tuesday. When emergency personnel arrived, the children had gotten out of the water on their own; they were taken to the Brea Police Department for questioning.
Authorities from the following cities did not release incident reports Tuesday: Costa Mesa, Cypress, Fullerton, Laguna Woods, La Habra, Newport Beach, Orange, Stanton and Villa Park.
