The Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District will meet tonight to discuss the final phase of its promotion-and-retention policy. Trustees will hear how the strict policy for skipping students ahead or holding them back a grade will be implemented when school starts in September. Other items the board will discuss include a recommendation to expel four students and ratifying a $200,310 districtwide grant for School Age Parenting and Infant Development, a program that serves 40 school-age parents and pregnant minors and 30 infants, said Karen Bass, district spokeswoman. The meeting starts at 5:30 p.m. at the Yorba Linda Educational Services Center, 4999 Casa Loma Ave.
